Recipe for A Scrumptious Dessert

Good afternoon everyone ~ Some of you asked for the Sticky Date Pudding recipe so here it is.

Sticky Date Pudding

1 cup boiling water
1 cup chopped pitted dates
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla
1-1/2 cup flour
1 tsp bk powder
1/2 tsp salt

Pour boiling water over pitted dates and bk soda, in a small bowl. Mix and let stand until lukewarm.

Cream butter and sugar in a medium-sized bowl until light and creamy. Beat in egg and vanilla. Combine flour, bk powder, and salt. Add to creamed mixture alternately with date mixture, making 3 dry and 2 liquid additions. Mix well.

Spread evenly in a 9 inch square greased pan. Bake 40-45 mins. at 350.

Toffee Sauce

1/2 cup butter
1 cup Br sugar
3/4 cup whipping cream
1/2 tsp vanilla

Melt butter and dissolve sugar over medium heat. Add cream and vanilla. Simmer 5 mins. until slightly thickened. Serve warm over the date pudding. Enjoy!
I got this recipe from Carolyn at "Aiken House and Gardens." Thank you Carolyn for sharing!

Of Puddings and Pies

Good day everyone~ For a couple of years I've been hearing about this scrumptious dessert called Sticky Date Pudding with Toffee Sauce. Well, I finally got the recipe and tried it. I knew I would love it because I love anything with dates and a sauce over it!

Yummm! It is a wonderful dessert and perfect for Christmas. Since no one in my family cares for Plum Pudding except me, I'm going to make Sticky Date Pudding this year. Hubby loves it too! Now instead of the usual Pumpkin Pie, I'll serve up this delectable pudding too.
What do you have for dessert after Christmas dinner?

A Blogiversary Giveaway

Good morning everyone~ I am celebrating my one year Blogiversary on Rose Chintz Cottage and Inspirations http://sandimyyellowdoor.blogspot.com/ and I am having a Giveaway to celebrate! Because I love Christmas so much and this blog is yet another venture for me, I am posting about my Giveaway on here too.

This little snowman angel is adorable with his sparkly wings and scarf. He holds another scarf with "Love" written on it across his pink belly. Little snowflakes are sprinkled all over his pretty belly. He would be sweet either hanging on your Christmas tree or in a wreath.

If you would like to win this snowman ornament then please leave a comment saying so on this blog or Rose Chintz Cottage. If you are or become a Follower of either blog, you get two chances to win, and if you post about the Giveaway on your blog linking back to me, it will give you yet another chance to win! I will draw the name of the winner on Friday the 23rd of October and post the winner on my Pink Saturday post on October the 24th.
Thank you for making blogging so much fun and God bless you!
